You and your horse are at a good level of fitness and are working on more difficult lateral work and consistent collection and extension in your regime. Movements could include shoulder-in, traverse, renver, half-pass, counter canter, rein back, and medium and extended paces.

You might be training or competing at the Elementary/Medium EA or 1/Advanced HRCAV level, with a focus on straightness and collection.

Ā will help you improve your knowledge of advanced arena shapes and figures, particularly lateral work such as walk pirouettes, half pass, renver, and traverse. It will also continue to develop more reliable extended and collected paces in all three gaits.Ā

Performing the prescribed exercises each week will help you improve:

  • The suppleness, strength, cadence, and elasticity of your horse, and your core strength
  • Your knowledge of advanced lateral exercises
  • Your horse’s precise responsiveness to your lateral aids
  • Establishing a consistent and elastic contact with your horse’s mouth throughout all exercises
  • Precise control of your horse's stride length, as well as shoulder and hindquarter position
  • Balance, strength, and musculature for your horse, particularly over the topline, along with some improvement in core strength
