Scott started with a spare room and a 20-year fashion retail career behind him. Weird combo? Maybe. But thatā€™s exactly what made him different.
Heā€™d spent two decades obsessing over people, brand, and customer experience. When he went looking for his next move, he wrote down four things he loved:

Mortgage broking ticked every box.
So Scott dived in headfirstā€”researching the industry inside out, then backing himself to start his own Mortgage Broking business from scratch.
Fast forward and he and his team have settled close to $500 million in loans, built one of the most customer-loved brokerages in Australia, - Toast Finance, and carved out a reputation as the guy who knows how to turn a personal brand into a mortgage machine.

This was my last 10 years in my Retail career working at Cotton On Group in various leadership positions across Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Ecommerce. This was an incredible life and growth experience where I got to open stores and build the brand across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Newbie Broker
Had my big light bulb moment to try and find my next "thing" in life and Broking was it. Took the biggest risk in my life with two kids under 3, and left 20 years of stable employment to start my own business as a Mortgage Broker.

3 FUN FACTS ABOUT ME
I USED TO BE A DJ
Yes, I won a DJ competition when I was 18 in Sydney and played Trance, House and Progressive at raves and clubs all over town. I also had a radio show on FBi 94.5FM there during this time. I still have my turntables and whole record collection and love a mix from time to time! If youā€™re curious, check out some of my old mixes here.
I CRAVE EPIC ADVENTURES
For my 40th Birthday I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and treated myself to a solo adventure to trek the Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Southern Chile. It was a couple of weeks totally off-grid with no email, social media, or contact with the outside world which I had never done before ā€“ and it was incredible!
MY FIRST EVER JOB
I used to pick up golf balls at a golf driving range! We would walk around the fairways with a cricket helmet on and a golf club with the face swapped out with a tin can and picked them up into buckets. Yes, this was during open times and it was dangerous!
