From Surviving to Thriving as a Vegan
tools to navigate the emotional & social challenges of adopting and maintaining a vegan lifestyle
SIGN UP NOWVeganism should feel joyful
but it CAN feel lonely and difficult
It’s not easy to change, or to be “different.”
Whether you’re just starting to explore transitioning to veganism, or you’ve been
vegan for a while but find yourself mostly surrounded by folks who don’t see the world the
way you do, adopting and maintaining a vegan lifestyle can come with a lot of challenges
that the cookbooks and recipe blogs don’t prepare you for, such as:
How do you handle the holidays with your deer-hunting, barbecue-loving family?
What do you do at work functions where steakhouse dinners are part of doing business?
How do you cope and seek connection with being around non-vegan friends and family feels sometimes lonely and isolating?
And how do you just go on living your normal life when you're awake to the immense suffering of billions of animals across the world right now?

However heavy the topic, Valerie's disposition always brings lightness and humor to event hese difficult topics, and her approach is something universal: I felt on a personal level transformed and inspired by the activities and meditations and classes that Valerie created as they relate to my current situation.
I believe that anyone can find something that will motivate them, soothe them, and allow them to fully express themselves and understand how to begin (or continue) the journey to self-healing.

Val is an amazing combo of genuine, down to earth, and passionate.
She puts a lot of herself into helping improve our world; not just for humans, but for animals as well.
She's basically the feminist Captain Planet we need today.
Her teachings are practical, sustainable, and impactful - with a healthy dose of realness and wonder.
You don’t have to figure this out alone
I’d love to support you.
Sure, you could scour the internet, blogs, books, and YouTube videos to get some of this information.
Or you could let me do the sifting for you, and benefit from my 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist and 4 years as an ethical vegan.
I've known folks who've been vegan for 20 years, and others who've struggled stay consistent in their commitment to abstaining from animal products.
Most of the times, the difference is this:
People who stay committed to their values have guidance and support for when things get challenging.

How to know if
This course is for you
If you identify see yourself in one or more of these descriptions, I designed this course for you:

New Vegans + Veg-curious
You’re fairly new to this path or just starting to explore it, and you’re feeling overwhelmed with how much information is out there, yet struggling to find the info you actually need.

Isolated Vegans
Living a cruelty-free lifestyle is incredibly important to you, but very few people in your orbit feel the same way, and it can get pretty lonely.

Vegans Invested in Emotional Growth
You’ve been vegan for a while, but you know you have some work
to do with your emotional + relational skills, and you want guidance from a fellow vegan.
What to Expect
Inside the Course
Every day for 21 days, you’ll get an email with a mini-muffin-sized video lesson from me along with a journaling prompt, and on some days, an additional challenge invitation.
My intention with structuring the course this way is to make it super accessible and pack a ton of value into a short amount of time. You're busy and you don't need yet another thing that sounded like a good idea but was way too much to actually complete.
Also, you'll probably notice from reading the descriptions below that, while the skills I'll be sharing in this course will be incredibly valuable with your vegan journey, they'll also translate to SO many other challenges and areas of life that you're working on.

WEEK 1: EMOTIONAL AGILITY 101
In the first week, we’ll focus on skills for more effectively processing and coping with painful thoughts and feelings. (If you attended my masterclass, this is similar but goes a lot deeper and offers several more of my fave tools for emotional/psychological flexibility.)

WEEK TWO: RELATIONAL SKILLS 101
Next, we’ll explore some of the most common relational challenges that show up when you’re new to veganism or feeling isolated as a vegan, and I’ll offer some tangible strategies for how you can seek more connection (even when you’re socially distancing).

WEEK THREE: COMMITTED ACTION 101
We’ll wrap up the course with focusing on how you can stay aligned with your values of loving and protecting animals even when life gets in the way and it’s hard to stick with new habits and behaviors.

PRIVATE COMMUNITY
Get access to my community only open to participants of this course, where I’ll hang out frequently throughout the course to connect and answer questions (PS, if you are not a fan of Facebook, this is hosted in a FB-free oasis!)

BONUS LIVE Q&A SESSION
I’ll host a live Q&A (exact timing TBD) at the end of Week 3 which will be recorded & available on replay for all participants
